There once was a land,
So beautiful, so bright,
Where butterflies with wings of gold
Fluttered around our children’s feet.
The mornings bathed in a golden glow,
Soft whispers of light would ebb and flow.
And as the evening skies unrolled,
A profound calm began to hold.
Then, came evil in a human form to our
peaceful land in a deep black swarm.
Fires raged where homes once stood,
Hearts were broken, dreams subdued.
No mercy they had by their side,
Shattering lives where dreams reside.
Now tears flow, and scars endure,
Yet within us, hope remains secure.
Our hearts may rupture, our blood runs cold,
Yet dreams of freedom we still hold.
We are not prisoners of despair;
Through darkness, light will find us there.
The world may seem to turn to stone,
But our voices rise, we are not alone.
For even in the longest night,
The dawn will rise to claim its right.
